Jamaica Missions Journal #2

Today was day two in the building process and the childrens ministry. Great things are happening. On the first day of VBS there were 80 children from the community who showed up. Today there were over 120 children! And in the first two days there have been about 50 children who have made decisions for Christ!
Our building teams have been busy. They have repainted many of the rooms inside the school, begun to put the trusses up on the eating facility, as well as pouring supporting beams on the kitchen facility. Yesterday we had the blessing of an unexpected rain storm which brought some relief from the heat. Today there was no such luck - it was very hot! Yet even through the heat and the challenges, it is so awesome to see a team of people who are motivated by the love of Christ to reach out and be a blessing to others!
Everyday there has been something special and memorable that has taken place. There is something about being on a missions trip that causes you to appreciate and be thankful for all that God has blessed you with. We have such an amazing responsibility to go into our world with the love and hope that is found in Jesus - and share what we have been given.
